02AUG09 The 60' Trimaran "Banque Populaire", skippered by Frenchman Pascal Bidegorry smashes the transatlantic multihull record from New York to Lizard Point off the Cornish coast, UK, crossing the line at 14:13:30 GMT (15:13:30 BST/local), setting a new world record of.3days, 15hours, 25mins and 48 seconds. They had previously set a new 24hour run of 907miles.
